Symantec's Support Readiness Training (SRT) group designs, develops, and produces "blended learning" solutions on Symantec's enterprise products for Symantec's and its partners' global technical support engineers. Blended learning solutions are a mix of e-learning and instructor-led programs. The learning programs focus on product internals and provide a clear insight into the highly complex world of enterprise product troubleshooting.

Job Description
- Design and develop highly technical courseware that prepares technical support engineers to resolve highly complex issues faced by customers while using Symantec products.
- Work hands-on with Symantec products to gain in-depth understanding of the products (including understanding how the products work under the hood) and develop content focused on how to resolve potential issues rather than how to use the products. This includes installing and configuring relevant operating systems and Symantec products across multiple servers within a networked test environment.
- Create troubleshooting labs for ILT courses. This involves writing scripts (in Perl, VBScript, etc) to simulate failures in Symantec products. Students are then asked to resolve these simulated issues in class.
- Work with product engineers and senior technical support engineers to develop and verify relevant content.
Must-have Skills
- Superlative aptitude for understanding technology and technical details, first-rate writing and information design skills, strong instructional design fundamentals, and the tenacity to look beyond product usage documentation and training.
Desired Skills
- Administering Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Servers, and Microsoft SQL Servers; experience in developing courses on Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange Server, or Microsoft SQL Server; experience in customer technical support.
